 How to create your own base files for use with the button generator.

On Cool Text the buttons are rendered from base files, which are Photoshop .PSD or Gimp .XCF files that contain layers that get colored by the rendering script.

During rendering the buttons are scaled down to 50% of the base file resolution.

If the image contains two layers then the engine will put the second color on the second layer.

The Flag base file above contains two layers, the first layer is for the trim...

...and the second layer contains the base.

Any area of the image that is transparent will be changed to the background color.

If you have trouble using .PSD files try converting them into the native Gimp .XCF format.
Here is an example of another one of the base files, in Photoshop Format and in Gimp Format.
